HB 59 is PROBABLY going to become law on 7/1, but the governor has not signed it (or vetoed it) yet. When the governor does sign it, or it becomes law without his signature, or he vetoes it, we will put a mass email out to all.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Today, the Florida Senate approved House Bill 59 Service of Process by Representative John Patrick Julien (D-North Miami Beach). The House approved the bill on Friday, and the legislation now heads to the governor’s office. This bill allows process servers unannounced entry into a gated residential community. including its common areas and common elements when the person is known to be within the community and requires parties to provide the original process, and e-copy signed by the clerk to the sheriff.
This bill also amends Florida statutes related to service of process on corporations. It allows process servers to serve process on any employee of the registered agent on the first attempt, even if the registered agent is only temporarily absent.
“I would like to thank the Florida Association of Professional Process Servers (FAPPS), Florida Sheriff’s Association and Senator Margolis for helping me pass this bill,” said Representative Julien. “I thank my colleagues in both chambers of Legislature for removing the immunity from the judicial process.”
